LinkReinventing the wheel much, Johnson? The Empire (and their sucksessor was that out loud?)the First Order were all human, all the time. It was the Rebellion/Resistance that showed in every movie (yeah, even VII and VIII) that there could be camaraderie and friendship between species.

Inter-species is what inter-galactic is all about. Even the Empire had dealings with other species, though they didn't have any Jar-Jar storm troopers.

The Empire and First Order had dealings with alien species, yes. But, once Order 66 was completed and the Clone War over, Imperial military was all human. I don't think we saw any non-human in rank and file of the Empire in the original trilogy. Whereas we saw non-humans among the rank and file fighting for the Rebels.

Right. Or, at least 'humanoid' in that they're not from Earth. Rian Johnson, from everything I've heard about TLJ, isn't much of an original series fan, otherwise he would know that the Rebels were inter-species-friendly. I still don't get how Finn was a stormtrooper given that he wasn't a clone of... Okay, I know that Boba Fett isn't the right generation but I'm spacing on his father's name. I've got a gap then - when did they stop using clones?

Jango Fett was the original progenitor of the line. Boba was his unaltered clone, and his actual reward for allowing the Kaminoians to use his DNA as the template. After the Clone Wars ended, the Empire halted their business with Kamino and, as the Clonetroopers died off, replaced the ranks with uncloned humans (though there is a rumor that Vader kept a squad of Clonetroopers for his personal guards until the last of them died out and any Stormtroopers in his personal squad were very loyal to him. And him alone.

Yeah, Jango. Unchained, I assume. So that explains Finn and that woman with the silver suit whose name escapes me. Oddly, now I'm imagining an entire clone army of Darth Helmets...

That's the one.
I heard a rumor on YouTube that she had a whole book series back in the day.
