That is sad. I look for spoilers. There are few films that I haven't deliberately spoiled for myself by seeking out reviews and outright asking people who have seen it. Goes back to my younger days when I had to really watch my pennies and wanted to know if I'd be spending wisely to see a film.

The movie is now on store shelves (brick n mortar and digital download). Some of the scenes won't be quite as impressive on any thing less than a theater screen, but you can also rent it online (Google play, the Apple store, Wallyworld's Vudu) and watch to see if its worth buying to keep.
Knowing that she (Carrie Fisher) is no longer with us, I took an entire box of kleenex in with me and used most of them during two scenes. One scene was the reunion/farewell scene between Luke and Leia.

We rented it from Amazon over the weekend. My opinions:
1) They gambled on the wrong Skywalker twin. Not sure why. Well, I have my ideas - they've stated that this group of triplets is supposed to be the 'girl power' (my term, not theirs) trio so to them Leia standing last would make sense; to me, Luke standing last would make more sense. His story was more fleshed out first even though Leia was the first to be seen in the original movie. The original trilogy seems more to be about Luke.
2) The writing was sub-par with the original trilogy. At points, it felt like they were going down a check-list - need to do this: done. Need to follow up with that: done. I know they needed to follow a certain type of template (space opera) and they needed to conform to the six that went before, but IMO they could have disguised it better.
3) I know Rei is the one who said her parents were disgusting nobodies (my terminology, not hers) but I'm doubting it. Snoke (sp?) said he'd invaded both her and Kylo's mind in order to get them together. It's possible he could also have planted that idea in both of their minds. If so, there was a reason for it. I'll be waiting to see what Abrams does with the next segment.
4) When a light Jedi expires, s/he disappears. When a dark Jedi (sith) expires his or her body seems to remain corporeal. I would think that, light or dark, both would have the ability to manifest as Force Ghosts but the symbolism of the vanishing body or not vanishing body seems to say different. I think they both should be able to manifest as spiritual entities because the Force demands balance.
5) Yoda's a bad mo-fo.
6) Could not watch the milking scene. Had some trouble with the Leia Poppins scene. Had some trouble with General Purple-hair's attitude. Wondering why Kylo / Ben is still so adolescent.

Not all of them. And not all Jedi (or Sith.... Darth Bane for one) who die become Force ghosts.
So far, only Qui-Gon, Obi-wan, Yoda, Anikin (because he was Anikin, not Darth Vader, when he reappeared at the end of ROTJ) and Luke have been shown to take that path. There have been two Sith mentioned. But, I also have not been able to get all of the books ($$$$$) to see if other Jedi did the same in the expandedVerse (what Disney/Lucusfilms now calls "Legends").

Right, I got that Vader was his former self (name unknown other than 'Skywalker') at the end of RotJ. He wasn't scarred, he was smiling and hanging out with Obi-Wan.
You'd think most Jedi masters would be able to do the Force Ghost thing. Note: masters. For the purposes of the story, of course, we'd only see the ones who have been introduced to us so we know who they are. That includes seeing the living character in a film (or book) and just hearing about some (possibly legendary) Jedi from other characters. Why show us Quigon Jin in RotJ when we hadn't heard of him yet? If the movies had actually been in order (besides there being no Star Wars franchise because the prequels weren't all that compelling) we might have seen him at the end of RotJ and, of course, heard of him during the movie so there would be a reason for Luke to be seeing him.
