That writer put a lot of thought into that.

Yeah, they did. Used to do that, a lot, with Pern fendom.

I guess it's his job to do that. I've done similar with the HP universe. I just didn't get as involved as some people who actually looked up when the full moons should have been and checked to see if Lupin turned on or about those dates.

Actually learned quite a few skills during my Turns as a Weyrleader (or Weyrwoman... depending on the group I was working with). I learned to put together a fanzine which included how to paste up pages and insert images and ads (thank you, unremembered teacher from FHS journalism) almost a decade before we got a computer.
When we got a computer, my computing skills were acquired because I needed them to do the newsletter. I eventually learned to hand code with HTML trying to do a webpage for the various Pern clubs.

I had both a Geocities site and a Fortune Cities (cities?) site. Loved them. Can't get into Wix or other drag-and-drops, it ain't the same.

I had a Geocities site for one of my groups. And, for a little while, I had a site for my X-Men fanfic.

I tried to put a... was it Brave? Something with a 'B' - on my site to keep up with the kids. Didn't work out too well as a discussion board. My sites were about Pagan beliefs for one and genealogy for the other.
