I'm not familiar with this character. Interesting.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier when Rogers, Romanov and the SHIELD Strike team are tasked with a hostage rescue aboard the Lumerian Star (basically as cover for Romanov's actual job...data retrieval). This is the guy who basically talks smack in French and he and Rogers fight (Batroc is taken down... but later throws a grenade at Rogers and Romanov). In the comic titles, he was called "Batroc the Leaper".

Ah. So, what looks like a random villain in the MCU might actually be an original comics character.

What's bad is that, long ago, (like say 80s) when I would see the character mentioned... because Marvel was really good about cross pollinating between titles so he didn't just harass Cap) for some reason, I would read his name as Batroc the Leper and was usually like "okay.... why?"...
Don't laugh too hard (please?) turns out it wasn't just the font they used, I did need glasses.

Yeah, I do the same thing. As a kid I thought the magenta crayon was the magneta crayon.

And probably wasn't helped that part of Magneto's uniform color scheme has magenta as the shade of purple he chose either.
