See how the X-Men glow up for Marvel's version of the Met GalaRachel Summers (spike tits! ) Betsy Braddock (Captain Britain) looks like a Sailor Scout Emma Frost three variations of trashy (I've seen nicer stuff in a Fredrick's of Hollywood catalog). Granted, I've seen a few clips from the Gala and these costumes would fit right in.

Okay, I'm guessing these aren't (definitely shouldn't be!) their usual fighting outfits. The women have heels/platforms, and for serious, wings? Remember Edna Mode's warning against capes. The same can be said for wings, and for Pete's sake, never fight in heels! It never goes well.
Can't say I like Storm's shorts-on-the-outside look. I never did like that look whether it was Quailman or Storm. I'm probably not the person to appreciate these outfits. I don't like high Paris fashion either. They're all ugly, IMO.

No, these aren't standard mutant fighting gear.
If you google Met Gala and look at the images, you'll see that there is a theme for each year and it seems the more outrageous the costume the better.

Well, I'm all for dressing outrageously. I was Goth before they had a name for it and only forsook the look because there were so many copy-cats.
