Well, with WandaVision, not so much "white guy to the rescue" as "guy to the rescue".
Not to mention, Cumberbatch's pay check would have blown the budget for the series.

He was lined up to appear but they decided against it, for the reasons stated. If he'd stopped at not wanting Wanda to be upstaged, that would be fine, but adding in the race and gender thing just made me wonder about what the MCU (or is it now the M-She-U as some are saying?) is up to.
