Despite the title, the article seems to be arguing for a cinematic movie rather than a streaming service offering. An origin story - what would that be? Here's Obi-Wan as a small child, ripped from his parents, living with a bunch of other kids and learning how to be a Jedi and to deny his baser urges. Sounds like *cough* fun. Some of the other possible suggestions sound good. It would need to be after Luke's birth since Ewan McGregor isn't as young as he was when he filmed the prequels. Learning the origin of the name 'Ben Kenobi' (sounds more like a nick-name for Obi-Wan) would probably go over as well as learning the origin of the surname Solo did in the Solo movie - not well. Right now, core fans on the internet are spoiling for something to deride and that would do it.
You know what might go over well? How about something to do with the early years of Snoke? He clearly became a bad guy / Sith so he must have been a Jedi trainee at some point. What made him go Vader? Did Kenobi have something to do with it or with trying to prevent it?

That factoid was dropped into our laps in one of the episodes of the animated series The Clone Wars.
I'm just wondering, in my alternative history of, would things have turned out better (as in Anikin doesn't become Darth Vader) if the Jedi had let Anikin know that one of the Jedi was a married man? And I can't remember his name, but he was nonHuman and executed during the purge from General Order 66.
And they could so easily adapt the book Kenobi for that even if it has been labeled as "Ledgends"

If the book is a 'legend', then making a movie of it would bring it back into the canon.

The organization the bad guy in Solo (Black Sun, I think) was with, was in Legends. Because they had prequel story lines in the Lucas EU that Disney unilaterally slapped the label of "Legend" on so Disney is already bringing pieces of the Legend stuff into their canon..

Yeah, because they want to be the ones to make things canon. Just shows they were a bit premature to dis everything.
